Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
~Robert Frost
I don't know who Robert Frost was; I do not know what he did or accomplished in his life but I know that this is my favorite poem of his. And I could go into why that is but I'm not sure I have a reason and I don't want to know why, actually.
I like this poem too! It has a certain something to it.
ReplyDeleteHe has some other great ones too I'm pretty sure! But this one is especially lovely though! :) -M
