Writer's guild UNITE

 In my writer's guild club:

-this one man was discussing cannibalism and saying it's technically legal. I can't even-
- the same man is a part of the philosophy club
- "you don't exist, I don't exist, this world doesn't exist, you're welcome."
- this man is debating that we don't have free will
- this man has a narrow face and bags under his eyes and is wearing a blue hoodie, grey pants, white sneakers
- "out crazy your opponent- that's how you win"
- "I had a journal as a child, but didn't keep up with it"
- this man could talk for six hours and I'd listen
- this man might wear an elf costume on the last day of school
- he's sitting in a spinney blue chair
- this man took world history, philosophy
- "thank you, I'm Canadian, we fight with mosses and maple syrup."
- "we were learning about the french revolution and jumped to black slavery."
- now the meeting is commencing
-  this man threw in a starwars reference mid-conversation
- we (as a writing club) want to defeat oakville trafalgar apparently
- we have to write a personal memoir. challenge accepted.
- man I missed this club. love it here.
- I joined the discord server.

Time machines

I wonder if anyone had a time machine, would they use it to go into the future? Nearly everyone seems to go back to the past. Not that I can blame them. I would too. But the future... If you go to the future, that changes everything and would probably change the present. If you went to the future then you'd know what would happen and the magic of not knowing would disappear when the machine launches you into the unknown. I'd still want a time machine, even if it was broken. Just to leave it next to the laundry machine like a rusted yellow volkswagen beetle that could turn into a transformer at the push of a button.

Floor time

"The floor seemed wonderfully solid. It was comforting to know I had fallen and could fall no further."
- Sylvia Plath

{have you ever just wanted to lie on the wooden tiles in your home and see the ground so close and to see the dust particles catch the light and to feel the sun on your face and to feel the wooden floor along your spine and to experience that fresh breath?}

Alan Turing

One of my favorite movies is the Imitation Game. I suppose that's due to the fact that I see myself in Alan, who thought and acted differently from everyone around him. His character brings to light so many things that click in my brain and thoughts that I think. And maybe that's why I find him to be one of my favorite historians and characters. But I can't help but feel sorry for him at the same time. And he's right; just because someone thinks differently than you, doesn't mean they're not thinking.

"Of course machines can't think as people do. A machine is different from a person. Hence, they think differently. The interesting question is, just because something, uh... thinks differently from you, does that mean it's not thinking? Well, we allow for humans to have such divergences from one another. You like strawberries, I hate ice-skating, you cry at sad films, I am allergic to pollen. What is the point of... different tastes, different... preferences, if not, to say that our brains work differently, that we think differently? And if we can say that about one another, then why can't we say the same thing for brains... built of copper and wire, steel?"

Lavender in the headspace

 "they say lavender softens anxiety/
and I wonder whether I can plant a garden/
so dense in your mind/
that the knots in your chest unravel/
and never tighten again."

- Jasmine Kaur

[can someone do this for me, because then maybe everything would be easier and I wouldn't be so melancholy]
