Owl City

Today it was snowing, let's talk about Owl City.  

Owl City was one of my favorite artists in 2019/2020. My favorite songs of his were Fireflies, Vanilla Twilight, Red Hot Balloon, The Bird and The Worm, Unbelievable, Sunburn, Strawberry Avalanche, and Not All Heroes Wear Capes. Fireflies are one of those songs that was literally written for daydreaming when you were 12 years old and imagining scenarios in your head. All of Owl City's openings tickle the ears and rush like running water and it's the coolest thing ever and I love that too. The songs are so catchy, they get stuck in my head all the time: ♪"I'll be out of my mind and you'll be out of ideas pretty soon so let's spend the afternoon in this red hot air balloon"♪ "If you're the bird whenever we pretended summer then I'm the worm I know the part- it's such a bummer but fair is fair"♪ "I like to make myself believe that planet earth turns slowly it's hard to say I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep cause everything is very as it seems when I fall asleep" ♪ The images my head makes for these lyrics are so pleasing and bring me back to when I was 12. (Being 12 seems like one of those universal experiences that girls have when they read books in bed in the summertime when the windows open).   

Consider the Jellies

 Have you ever considered Jellyfish? No, like really think about them. They have no heart, bones, or blood. A group of them are called a Smack. They are 95 percent water and they float around without a brain or central nervous system. Doesn't that just fascinate you? They use their tentacles (which have a set of nerves) sense touch, temperature, salinity, among other things. (They are also PREDATORS?!) Have you ever seen a jellyfish? Just swimming around? They inch around like worms! Oh man they look so cool. And they aren't even fish! Dang they also come in the most BEAUTIFUL colors I have ever seen. Oh wow. God really did a good job on jellyfishes. 

Positive vibes!

 Man, today was a good day. It was cool today so I was able to double up on the layers but no cold enough to wear my hat and I dunno but the highlight of the day was when I went with some friends to the nearby convenience store at the break and they were just talking while I spun around in circles with my arms out and balanced on some ledges. Man I was so happy. I think it's cool how I can just vibe with the weather and they're chill about it and I like being able to make them laugh. I like that I can come and go throughout the week and I'll pop back in during breaks and they're just like "hey girlie! what's up?"👍

An old, purple witch

Maybe this fits the halloween vibe or something but I don't really believe in or celebrate halloween so here is this post. I remember reading a story when I was younger about a nice old witch and the vibe and storyline came to me today AND I CAN'T REMEMBER WHAT IT'S CALLED. I don't even know if it's in the house anymore. Here are all the facts I remember:
- lives in cottage alone
- wears a purple dress and has gray hair and wears a witch hat
- she made a stew I think
- mixed up a spell and turned the grass blue and the sky green
- she and the animals fixed the spell
- this was in a children's book I read when I was younger
- short story and hardcover and the pages were the glossy kind and had a certain smell to them
- and the background and colors were watercolor-like and very appealing to the eyes
- the witch also had a broom
- she was a nice witch

Best October🍂🍃

 I'm drinking in all of this glorious weather like a parched man in a vast desert whose finally reached a spring of water. I know this weather is probably a fluke and won't happen again- it's too good to be true- so I'm savoring so much of it before the warm breezes, pink-purple sunrises, and blazing leaves all begin to disintegrate. Octobers are the best and this one is the best of all. I wish it could stay like this forever. This morning especially has been my favorite. I've been walking most mornings just so I can behold the beauty of it all. I just wanted to stand still on top of that hill and stay there.
